FIAM - who we are
The Federation of Independent Agricultural Merchants (FIAM) is a UK non-profit making organization established by a group of like-minded agricultural merchants, each dedicated to providing quality products and services to the agricultural, farming and associated communities.
The development of FIAM has come about as a direct result of the ever greater need to improve supply chain efficiency within the Agricultural sector.
Supply of farm inputs to meet the needs of the modern progressive farmer via individual FIAM members has many benefits in terms of cost efficiency and effectiveness as compared with traditional methods of farm sourcing from several different sales people all employed by different manufacturers.
FIAM Members are highly focused, experienced and professional Independent Agricultural Merchants. Members generally have much lower overheads than the larger supply companies. FIAM Members tend to supply a wide range of products from a number of different manufacturers thereby dramatically reducing sales costs and maintaining an independent viewpoint.
Farmer customers need to have access to a balanced sales and product portfolio. FIAM Merchants have no corporate agenda, and always work in their clients' best interests. Our reduced cost structure means we can be very competitive because we don't need extra profits to support big overhead costs.
Although the individual businesses within FIAM are independently owned and operate completely independently from each other there is within FIAM a vast range of both nutritional expertise and experience.
Whilst the main emphasis within FIAM is on the supply of feeds and nutrition advice to farms in the dairy cow, beef and sheep sectors. Whatever your requirement, whether it is for premium animal feeds, seeds, minerals, supplements, silage additives, or other associated products, you'll find a FIAM Merchant in your area ready to supply you.
FIAM merchants have one common objective - 'To provide the agricultural community with the best possible products and services at the best possible prices'.
